Portalegre Lab has an exclusive loT team

Softinsa`s Portalegre Specialist Lab has just formed its first team dedicated exclusively to projects in the area of IoT- Internet of Things. The commitment to solutions professionals for Smart Cities arises to address with greater proximity the technological needs in the Alentejo region.
The Portalegre Development Center, which had its genesis in signing the cooperation protocol between the Portalegre City Council, the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre, Softinsa and IBM Portugal, is now beginning to take its first steps in the development and implementation of systems aimed at promoting economic and environmental sustainability.
This recent team, composed of six professionals, will focus on Max2Green for IoT solutions and, as a first phase, projects related to the optimization of rule systems, automation of water meter readings, intelligent management of the luminary park and monitoring of the waste collection and treatment system. One of the objectives will be to analyses needs in the region in other areas and develop pilot projects for the benefit of the community and promoting a more sustainable and ecological economy.
Henrique Mourisca, Deputy Director General of Softinsa, points out that “the incorporation of professionals in this new center of Portalegre is the materialization of the protocol we signed with the Portalegre City Council and the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre.
We are very excited about this important step and the formation of this recent IoT team. We believe that all the conditions for the success of this new center are met, and at this stage we have already received about a hundred applications, and we are already preparing the incorporation of a second team in the area of DevOps.”
In the recruitment for these jobs were privileged the recent graduates of the areas of engineering and a management of the Polytechnic of Portalegre and also some professionals who were working in the large urban centers and who with this project it was possible to return to Portalegre, their homeland.
Softinsa´s new employees will be working from the incubator of BioBIP technology- based companies, at the Polytechnic Campus of Portalegre, and at this time are already open, in www.softinsa.pt/carreiras, the applications for the constitution of the second team to integrate the Portalegre Lab.
